A1: Inside the house

• You know the rooms of a house (Je kent de kamers van een huis). 

With these words you can describe a house very simply (Met deze woorden kun je een huis heel eenvoudig beschrijven).

The Rooms (De kamers)

The Living Room (De woonkamer) 

In a house is the living room (de woonkamer). 

The living room is a space where you sit and talk. 

Je zegt: Ik zit in de woonkamer. (I sit in the living room.) 

Je zegt: De woonkamer is groot. (The living room is big.)

The Kitchen (De keuken) 

In a house is also the kitchen (de keuken). In the kitchen you cook and sometimes you eat. 

Je zegt: Ik kook in de keuken. (I cook in the kitchen.) 

Je zegt: De keuken is klein. (The kitchen is small.)

The Bathroom (De badkamer) 

Many houses have the bathroom (de badkamer). In the bathroom you wash yourself. 

Je zegt: Ik was mij in de badkamer. (I wash myself in the bathroom.) 

Je zegt: De badkamer is nieuw. (The bathroom is new.)

The Bedroom (De slaapkamer) 

You often also have the bedroom (de slaapkamer). In the bedroom you sleep. 

Je zegt: Ik slaap in de slaapkamer. (I sleep in the bedroom.) 

Je zegt: De slaapkamer is rustig. (The bedroom is quiet.)

The Garden (De tuin) 

Some houses have the garden (de tuin). The garden is outside. 

Je zegt: Ik zit in de tuin. (I sit in the garden.) 

Je zegt: De tuin is mooi. (The garden is beautiful.)
